Hell's Belles

I was thinking of doing a couple of art collection books, one of which would be Blood Red Pinups stuff. Here's one of the concepts, using an old favorite piece of art.

Simon Bisley

Bisley kicks ass. Don't even @ me on that. His art has the texture of Frazetta and the tone of Corben and the zero-fucks of Biz himself.

I guess I discovered his work in Lobo's original run or in Slaine: The Horned God. Not sure which came first for me. Lobo was fine, but it was Slaine that blew my skirt up.

Barbs

This was the first panel of what was meant to be a webcomic. This is the only panel I ever drew... thus no webcomic.

Brog Nog Color

I worked on coloring this 8 page comic years ago. I love the look of it but can't muster the will to finish coloring it.

Catgirl Mojo and Mini Rant

A really long time ago I tried to maintain a website called catgirlmojo.com. It didn't last, but it was a fun project.

I used it to post all my anthropomorphic pinup work and a weekly webcomic. But y'know... I am not really cut out for that sort of high maintenance artistic lifestyle. Plus I'm not a furry so I am not dedicated to funny animal art. I just treat it like any other kind of art and do it when the mood strikes.

This was also the era before I started drawing digitally. I have mixed feelings about this.

I absolutely love drawing on my tablet. It's liberating. I don't have to hunch over my paper. I can see what the fuck I'm doing. I don't have to buy art tools. And Jesus fuck have you seen how expensive art tools are these days? Markers I used to buy for $2.99 (expensive then) are closer to $8 now. Holy fuck.

Maybe that's why I'm seeing so many artists doing pencil or ballpoint pen work on Instagram. Or maybe it's just the algorithm clocking me.

Anyhoo. There's a charm to drawing on paper that you can't capture digitally. I miss drawing on paper for that reason. Also... I have no originals to sell from my digital era. I can do prints, sign them, and sell them. But you ain't getting an original because, y'know... it ain't there. /firstworldrant

Battle Elf

Weird old one. Didn't work it up too much but I kinda have a soft spot for it.

Catgirl Pot Stirring

Here's a catgirl named Tali. I drew it as a commission years ago. Kinda cool.

Oh... also I guess the title of this post is clickbaity. You expect some pot-stirring! So here goes.

Catgirls rule!!

I mean... if you Google Image search "catgirls" you could spend all day long diving into the subject matter. Not that I've done that. What a silly waste of time!

Who would win in a fight: catgirl or bunnygirl?

NOTE: I usually schedule these posts ahead of time, which I did in this case. But somehow I skipped like a whole week! WTF? No one sent me a strongly worded email asking where the pinup girls went. I'm hurt and vengeful.

Little Bitties

Here's a bunch of little images in the ole Blood Red folder that are very small or not well developed. I thought I'd share them all on one sheet. For giggles.

Pan-Gea Nude

Here's an oldie. Did this around 2004 or so on a little stiff piece of cardboard. One of my old faves from the Pan-Gea era.

Axe Barbarian

I might have posted another version of this one but I like her so it's fine.
