I titled this one "The Fighting Men of Whitdor". I do not remember why. But I do know that Whitdor is the name of a northern region of my fantasy setting Yria, which has never been published or detailed publically to any significant degree. Back of my head idea is to publish it some day as a BX, Labyrinth Lord, Old School Essentials sort of thing. We'll see.

Here's an old ink drawing I really love. I drew her with a Micron .005 pen, which produces a slightly scratchy style that I like.

Here's a classic from the early 2000s. Pretty sure I sold the original art long ago. In fact, I sold a bunch of these old originals. Now that I'm drawing digitally, I got no originals to sell. Woe to me! Best I can offer is a signed print.

 I really like Blazin' Kate. A lot. I want to do more drawings like this.

The Valkyrie

Honestly, this is one of my favorite pieces. Just a simple, small drawing. But it captures everything I love about doing pinup art. I think the character is cartoony as fuck, sexy as hell, and badass to boot.

And of course I did a less-busty version at some point to use in Black Pudding.

I must have a primal fear of serpents because I can't count how many times I've drawn someone threatened by or slaying a snake. Probably residual influence from the Conan the Barbarian movie.

Jilliantha Says No

Here's another Jilli drawing that I dig.

Jilliantha Stormshot

Maybe 2008 or so... I played my first game of D&D in a long, long time. It was the infamous 4th edition of the venerated RPG, which I enjoyed but didn't love. I created a dwarf and named her Jilliantha Stormshot. She kind of ushered in all my funky dwarf stuff that I created for old school games like Labyrinth Lord. She's a god damned redneck. Missing at least a tooth or two. And I love her.

So below you can see how I drew her initially and how I changed her up later, using the art in Black Pudding. I have often altered my more bodacious pieces to make them less bodacious for a discerning audience. I don't think I'll be doing that anymore. I'll just make new art if I need something less "busty".

A Study in Spring. Started out a doodle, like most drawings. Here I wanted to draw a figure that was different than what I normally do, kind of embracing elements I (we, speaking for typical artists of my peer groups) tend to ignore or gloss over. Like bellies. People have bellies.
