Muffin Top
I had the great pleasure of stumbling upon Abe Snake's Muffin Top Saturday Morning Adult Comics. I'm pretty sure it was by way of Instagram, then I ordered issues 1 and 2 direct from Abe. Got them in the mail, signed, and love 'em.
First vibe: Birdland. There's some strong Hernandez energy in these pages. Clean art, lean and mean, black and white, strong and confident use of lines and shadow. Very nice. Focus is on these plump lead characters, but he mixes it up with characters of different sizes and shapes.
I've only read issue 1 and 2. The story is about these characters who run a bakery and are using alien stuff in the frosting. I'll leave it there... you can read it for yourself.
I love that. Highly recommended.
